The Matara Centre is a place where people have total freedom to express their own feelings and beliefs in creating a unique wedding experience without limitations. We will do everything possible to make your wishes come true.
The Matara Centre and Kingscote House are set in 28 acres of woodland and parkland near Tetbury in Gloucestershire. This Wedding Venue in the Cotswolds blends ancient and modern, east and west fusion. You can see this in the architecture, interiors and in the landscaping that have evolved over the last 11 years. Everything has been done with love and care.
Last year we celebrated over 70 wedding ceremonies and civil partnerships, from a variety of cultures and belief systems. At Matara everyone is welcome and invited to feel at home. We have artefacts from all over the world that acknowledge and celebrate different faiths from Muslim, Hindu, Judaism, Christianity and the increasing earth bound spirituality that is emerging.
Each of our couples who celebrate their wedding at Matara dedicate a tree, currently we are creating Oak, Magnolia, Sliver birch and Acer Groves within the parkland so that every wedding celebration can be carbon neutral. The grey water from the Wedding Venue is recycled through our reed bed pond system which provides a thriving habitat for our wildlife within the parklands.
Our guests are free to explore the whole parkland during the wedding celebrations and participate in our wishing tree; labyrinths and spiral maze as well as participating in a tree dedication.
