The ceremony

We are licensed for civil marriages and commitment ceremonies. There is a choice of locations for your wedding ceremony: The cloistered courtyard with its ponds and pagoda or one of two inter-connected function rooms in the Matara Centre.

After the legal formalities are over, you are free to express yourselves with a ceremony of your own design. You can also choose to be married in a local church and hold your reception at Matara. We can also arrange for a Master of Ceremonies or Marriage Celebrant.

The reception

Our glass-domed airy reception room seats up to 150 people. The room is 12m x 12m and its key features are the glass dome and the wall of sparkling fairy lights. Wedding couples can then make the room their own with their choice of table decorations, flowers, seat covers and so on. The Matara Centre also offers a number of indoor and outdoor spaces for guests to mingle as well as a bar.
