Here are 10
poems and readings that can inspire you
on your wedding day.
Love
Three is beauty in the forest
Where the trees are green and fair,
There is beauty in the meadow
When wild flowers scent the air, There
is beauty i the sunlight
And the soft blue beams above, oh, the
world id full of beauty
When the heart is full of love
The Day
May this be the start of a happy new
life
That’s full of special moments to share
May this be the first of your dreams
come true
And of hope that will always be there…
May this be the start of a lifetime of
trust
And of caring that’s just now begun…
May today be a day that you’ll always
remember
the day when your hearts become one…
On Your Wedding day
Today is a day you will always remember
The greatest in anyone’s life
You’ll start off the day just two people
in love
And end it as Husband and Wife
It’s a brand new beginning the start of
a journey
With moments to cherish and treasure
And although there’ll be time when you
both disagree
These will surely be outweighed by
pleasure
You’ll have heard many words of advice
in the past
When the secrets of marriage were spoken
But you know that the answers lie hidden
inside
Where the bond of true love lies
unbroken
So live happy forever as lovers and
friends
It’s the dawn of a new life for you
As you stand there together with love in
your eyes
From the moment you whisper ‘I do’
And with luck, all your hopes, and your
dreams can be real
May success find its way to your hearts
Tomorrow can bring you the greatest of
joys
But today is the day it all starts.
These I can promise
I cannot promise you a life of sunshine;
I cannot promise riches, wealth, or
gold;
I cannot promise you an easy pathway
That leads away from change or growing
old.
But I can promise all my heart’s
devotion;
A smile to chase away your tears of
sorrow;
A love that’s ever true and ever
growing;
A hand to hold in yours through each
tomorrow.
From Heart to Heart
Our love is like a lovely bridge
Between your heart and mine
A bridge we’ve built down through the
years
Just to our own design
It’s based on happy memories
Of the good times that we’ve known
The hopes and dreams we two have shared
The thoughtfulness you’ve shown
It’s stronger now than ever
For it’s grown with every smile
And every act of kindness
That makes life seem more worthwhile
And now I know that, if you’re near
Or if we’re miles apart
Our love still unites us
With a bridge from heart to heart.
Valentine
Wendy Cope
My heart has made its mind up
And I’m afraid it’s you.
Whatever you’ve got lined up,
My heart has made its mind up
And if you can’t be signed up
This year, next year will do.
My heart has made its mind up
And I’m afraid it’s you.
Your Name
Jessica Blade
I wrote your name in the sky,
but the wind blew it away.
I wrote your name in the sand,
but the waves washed it away.
I wrote your name in my heart,
and forever it will stay.
Love Me
Love me in the Springtime, when all is
green and new,
Love me in the Summer, when the sky is
oh so blue,
Love me in the Autumn, when the leaves
are turning brown,
Love me in the Winter, when the snow is
falling down.
Love me when I'm happy, and even when
I'm sad,
Love me when I'm good, or when I'm oh so
bad,
Love me when I'm pretty, or if my face
is plain,
Love me when I'm feeling good, or when
I'm feeling pain.
Love me always in the rain or shining
sun,
Love me always, after all is said and
done,
Love me always, until all our life is
through,
Love me always, for I'll be loving you!
Meaning
Kellie Spehn
To love is to share life together
to build special plans just for two
to work side by side
and then smile with pride
as one by one, dreams all come true.
To love is to help and encourage
with smiles and sincere words of praise
to take time to share
to listen and care
in tender, affectionate ways.
To love is to have someone special
one who you can always depend
to be there through the years
sharing laughter and tears
as a partner, a lover, a friend.
To love is to make special memories
of moments you love to recall
of all the good things
that sharing life brings
love is the greatest of all.
I've learned the full meaning
of sharing and caring
and having my dreams all come true;
I've learned the full meaning
of being in love
by being and loving with you.
The Prophet
Kahlil Gibran
Love one another, but make not a bond of
love;
Let is rather be a moving sea between
the shores of your souls.
Fill each other’s cup but drink not from
one cup.
Give on another of your bread but eat
not from the same loaf.
Sing and dance together and be joyous,
but let each of you be alone,
Even as the strings of a lute are alone
though they quiver with the same music.
Give your hearts, but not into each
other’s keeping.
For only the hand of life can contain
your hearts.
For the pillars of the temple stand
apart,
And the oak tree and the cypress grow
not in each others shadow
Love
1 Corinthians 13
If I speak in the tongues of men and of
angels, but have not love, I am only a
resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If
I have the gift of prophecy and can
fathom all mysteries and all knowledge,
and if I have a faith that can move
mountains, but have not love, I am
nothing. If I give all I possess to the
poor and surrender my body to the flames
but have not love, I gain nothing.
Love is patient, love is kind. It does
not envy, it does not boast, it is not
proud. It is not rude, it is not
self-seeking, it is not easily angered,
it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does
not delight in evil but rejoices with
the truth. It always protects, always
trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love never fails. But where there are
prophecies, they will cease; where there
are tongues, they will be stilled; where
there is knowledge, it will pass away.
For we know in part and we prophesy in
part, but when perfection comes, the
imperfect disappears. When I was a
child, I talked like a child, I thought
like a child, I reasoned like a child.
When I became a man, I put childish ways
behind me.Now we see but a poor
reflection as in a mirror; then we shall
see face to face. Now I know in part;
then I shall know fully, even as I am
fully known.
And now these three remain: faith, hope
and love. But the greatest of these is
love.
