Today many couples want something more than a registry office or church ceremony can provide, something more individual, more personal – a ceremony that expresses their own personal feelings, in a setting that they find inspiring. More and more are discovering an uplifting alternative in the Matara Centre’s unique atmosphere and architecture. Many are attracted to Matara as an ethical venue.
A number of our Bride’s and Groom’s stay at Kingscote Park House with direct Family and friends which gives them time and preparation to relax and re-new relationships. Everyone has the opportunity to get involved and ensure that the Matara Centre is perfect for the wedding day.
We do everything we can to make your wedding experience here a truly joyful one. You have exclusive use of the centre on the day, including the beautiful gardens, which are ideal for wedding photography.
Throughout the day there are opportunities for the wedding guests to participate from the wishing tree, tree dedications and walking the stone labyrinth. (Link to the garden)
Your choice of ceremony
We are licensed for civil marriage and commitment ceremonies. And after the legal formalities are over, you are free to express yourselves with a celebration of your own design. Our registrars are happy to discuss renewal of vows and naming ceremonies.
There are several locations for civil ceremonies including our Cloistered Courtyard Garden; you can see an example of a civil ceremony in the above photograph. A favourite of the Bride’s is to make their entrance through the moon gate, an authentic Chinese pagoda. |
