We are licensed for civil marriage and
commitment ceremonies. And after the
legal formalities are over, you are free
to express yourselves with a celebration
of your own creation
At Matara we can create a variety of
versatile spaces, which can comfortably
accommodate groups numbering from 15 to
150 people
We have 6 distinctive
spaces where your civil ceremony can be
held.
Hilarium - 150
Guests. Our main banquet hall with its
dome ceiling is a joyous open space
with stunning views
Cloistered Courtyard
- 80 Guests. This inspiring garden is
our guest favourite with its flowing
water and natural setting.
Unity & Beech - 70
Guests. An intimate family setting with
its high ceilings and skylights with
open views of the two stunning
courtyards gives the feeling of a garden
conservatory and is a great all weather
space.
Kingscote House - 30
Guests. Stay and relax in Kingscote Park
Regency home
with 16 close family and friends. This
provides the time to bring two families
and friends together and ensure the last
details are in place and you can relax
and enjoy your special day. The house is
warm and friendly and the perfect place
for an intimate family wedding ceremony.
There is
accommodation on site for up to 24
guests.
We are
licensed for music and alcohol until
midnight.
The venue
includes all furniture, 5ft round tables
for your guests, a formal top table and
a cake table, up to 150 wooden banquet
chairs, exclusive use of the venue, 28
acres of parkland for photos to be taken
and also a wedding coordinator to help
plan your wedding day from the time you
book to the last minute details of your
actual wedding day itself.
You can
decorate the Hilarium in your own way.
You have
exclusive use of the Matara Centre on
the day, and enjoyment of the beautiful
gardens and woodlands, which are ideal
for wedding photography.
Throughout the
day there are opportunities for the
wedding guests to participate in the
wishing tree, tree dedications and
walking the 7 sided labyrinth. .
People as they pass each other in the
labyrinth can't help smiling.
You're welcome to come back again and
again to visit your celebration tree and
enjoy a simple picnic in the grounds
with close family and friends.
