Everything at Matara
Is beautifully presented with love and care to ensure your day is extraordinary. Our food is no exception; we are passionate about exciting, fabulous, fun food, using fresh local ingredients, shared with friends and family. People who are attracted to Matara enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and want their food to be beautiful, delicious and fun.
We are really lucky to have as our new Head Chef Mandy Farrar- Khan who was the Executive Head Chef at The Admirable Circhton, who is the best party designing company in Europe. Previously Mandy was Chef to many of the Royals as well as Head Chef of Williams Kitchen the premier catering company in the Cotswolds. William still serves a great lunch in Nailsworth you may wish to visit when you next visit Matara.
We worked with Mandy for the first time a few weeks ago when we catered a Matara wedding. We had rave reviews from the bride and groom and their guest, for the food, the presentation, and our staff. It was extraordinary day where everything was integrated from the decor of Hillarium, to the presentation of the food.
Mandy is busy preparing new set menus for Spring/Summer and for Autumn/Winter and a healthy option for both; as well as buffet ideas, and fun BBQ's to provide a range from cheap and delicious too more expensive and elaborate. We will let you have examples our new menus by the end of July.
A conversation with Mandy about her food
‘My basic philosophy is freshness and honesty, with ingredients of the very best quality, add inspiration, imagination, an eye for design, all mixed together with a bit of passion and love, you end up with something that looks beautiful and taste sublime, something you will hopefully remember forever.’
You will see Matara's own food and herbs sprinkled though our menus. We partner this with other passionate, like minded local growers within the Stroud valley to ensure a local seasonal supply of vegetables for all our Matara celebrations.
Perfectly cooked
We work simply with the best and freshest ingredients to produce the highest quality delicious food.
A meal requires a harmonious balance of salt, sour, sweet and bitter to stimulate but never overwhelm the palate.
Beautifully served
We have selected stunning platters and dishes to display the food to its best, each arrangement being unique to the day,
A Japanese saying “we eat with our eyes”
Delicious and healthy
We of course will totally indulge you on your special day; and at the same time ensure that food is fresh, local, seasonal, animals treated humanely by local caring farmers, and ensure our fish is from a sustainable source.
