FULL-TIME WEDDING & EVENT COORDINATOR (MAT LEAVE COVER)

Location: Matara, Kingscote Park, Gloucestershire

Salary/Hourly Rate: Dependent on experience

Contract: MAT leave cover, with potential to continue beyond the cover period

ABOUT MATARA

Matara is a truly unique wedding and events venue set within 28 acres of stunning gardens, woodlands, and parkland. From our Grade II-listed Regency house and light-filled Hilarium to the meadows and peaceful cloistered courtyard, Matara offers couples exclusive use, creative freedom, and sustainable elegance for ceremonies, receptions, and weekend-long celebrations.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a full-time Wedding & Event Coordinator, you will be the friendly, knowledgeable point of contact for our couples, supporting them from their first enquiry right through to their wedding or event day. You’ll play a key role in bringing each couple’s vision to life, while ensuring everything runs smoothly behind the scenes in collaboration with the wider Matara team.

We’re looking for someone flexible, enthusiastic, and calm under pressure — a reassuring presence who can juggle logistics while keeping the excitement and joy alive for our couples.

Due to the nature of the role, you will be expected to work (at most) every other weekend. Time off will be given during the following week.

This position is offered as MAT leave cover, with the potential for the role to continue after the MAT leave period, subject to business needs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as the dedicated point of contact for couples, listening closely to their ideas and guiding them with warmth and clarity

  • Work closely with our in-house teams (catering, grounds, housekeeping, accommodation) to ensure events come together seamlessly

  • Create bespoke event plans, liaise with suppliers, and oversee the smooth running of events on-site

  • Manage timelines, checklists, and documentation so couples feel confident everything is in safe hands

  • Use strong office and admin skills (emails, spreadsheets, scheduling, file management) to stay organised

  • Anticipate challenges and resolve issues before they arise

  • Support occasional non-wedding tasks that help keep Matara running smoothly

  • Take direction and feedback positively, with a willingness to learn and develop

  • Be flexible with working hours, including some evenings and weekends

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Reliable: You’re dependable, punctual, and follow through on commitments

  • Flexible & Adaptable: Comfortable shifting priorities when needed

  • Organised & Hard-working: Calm under pressure and able to manage multiple moving parts

  • Strong Office Skills: Confident with emails, spreadsheets, and general admin

  • Forward-Thinking: Always planning one step ahead

  • Creative & Open-Minded: Excited by couples’ ideas and keen to help make them happen

  • Team Player: Positive, collaborative, and enjoyable to work with

  • Receptive: Open to feedback and learning new ways of working

WHY JOIN MATARA?

  • Be part of a stunning, award-winning venue known for warmth, authenticity, and creativity

  • Play a key role in helping couples create celebrations that feel truly personal

  • Work in an environment that values sustainability, imagination, and soulful celebration

  • Enjoy the variety, buzz, and joy of event-led work within a supportive and friendly team
